About the workshop
Does the thought of asking for a donation in a face-to-face situation make you nervous? Are you looking for ways to build you confidence and skill in talking to potential donors and “making the ask?”
After years of working with nonprofit organizations, I am convinced that everyone can learn to ask for money. In this three-hour workshop, I will share techniques for how to ask in a comfortable, respectful and compelling way. You will learn how to prepare for a solicitation, articulate your nonprofit’s case for support, anticipate your prospect’s questions, and ask as part of a team.
You will have the opportunity to practice asking in a small-group, low-stress and FUN environment (no public speaking, but there will be role playing in groups of two or three). You will leave the workshop with concrete tools to help you raise more money in a variety of situations:
* Major donor asks
* Sponsorship solicitations
* One-on-one donor meetings
* Public presentations about your cause
This is a small-group format workshop for 12 people maximum to allow for individual feedback and in-depth discussion.
